My pet theory on troll sexuality in homestuck

One of the biggest aspects of homestucks story is the inherently queer influences in it, with many charters being LGBTQIA+ and/or character arcs revolving around queer topics, Roxy, Rose, Dirk, Dave, John, ect. Where this is most prominent, however, is the species or trolls.

Troll exist in homestuck as a alien species from the planet of alternia, where their biology and society is very different from ours. One aspect of this being reproduction as it could be done between both genders. Because of this the most common sexuality is bisexuality.

Kanaya Maryam is a strange deviation from this however as she is confirmed to be lesbian (albeit in a very confusing and outright gross way -M-) This shows that perhaps this bi norm is similar to heteronormativity in our society. Perhaps there is dislike or hatred to those how deviate from this norm, again, similar to our society and how it treats queer people.

I would love to see fan works explore this and more talk around this! This theory has been swimming around in my head for a bit now and I just needed to get it out so srr if this kinda sucks lol
