Now that I feel better than yesterday, I want to talk to you about the character who captured my heart from the first book.
Tared Miller.
I'll start by saying that in appearance, I imagine him as Marvel's Thor with tied-back hair. I know this might not convince many people because they might mostly prefer Loki, BUT I assure you there are other aspects where he stands out.
One of them is that he is a werewolf. Since I read the entire Green Creek saga (highly recommended), I adore werewolves, and Tared was no exception. I should mention that he's actually a wanderer, and his ancestor is a wolf, but I know that won't make sense if you haven't read the books, so let's just say he's a werewolf.
Then there's his personality. Besides being a leader (literally), he also tries to stay patient and in control. He's a strong person in many ways, loyal, and loves in a beautiful and, in my opinion, quite pure way.
His way of loving and how he treats his partner is what has me at his feet. He would give his life for his boyfriend to keep him safe, turned his back on his family to protect him, never doubted him, shared his painful past so that his partner could be at ease, with the assurance that he was loved.
With this fourth book, he simply has me hooked because it's as if the author wanted my expectations to rise to unreachable levels, and she succeeded.
I simply love Tared Miller; he's a charming man, and I know I'm going to want to tear my skin off when I see him suffer because I still have half the book left, and honestly, I'm not ready for that.
I'll leave some quotes that Tared has said to the protagonist in this fourth book. I don't care if they seem very cliché; for me, they mean everything. All will be written in Spanish.
"⸺Habrías muerto... ⸺ataja.
A mi hogar."
In any case, I love men, I mean, Tared Miller. And even though what I mentioned earlier might make it seem like the book is about romance, it's much more than that. It's a fantasy book where topics like voodoo, alchemy, and magic are mentioned. It also contains violent scenes and characters you end up loving.
Anyway, read "La Nación de las Bestias" by Mariana Palova. Perhaps you'll end up falling madly in love with Tared like I did.
