just made a spacehey last night and super liking it so far. i grew up in a pretty conservative sheltered home in the deep south, so i never got to have the myspace experience even though i wanted to so badly, haha. glad to be vicariously living out my tween dreams now at 26.ย
anyway, wanted to introduce myself! i'm emmett (they/them), a nonbinary transmasc person from NC. i live here with my amazing partner and our little cat, jiji :^) over to the left is a little picture of her. she's the best.
i work as a graphic designer by day, comics artist by night, and am currently working towards getting into grad school at OCAD in toronto. it's pretty competitive tho, so we'll see about that lmao.ย
in the meantime, i mostly just play a lot of webkinz, watch a lot of twitch streams, and waste time on the internet. feel free to comment below and introduce yourself- i'd love to be friends! <3ย

Jiji is so cute! And I never had MySpace either, as I live in the Netherlands, where it was not popular at all. We had our own Dutch website that looked a lot like MySpace but different! So Spacehey does give me a bit of nostalgia towards that! I want to introduce myself but idk anything other that what I've already written on my page lmao. Well, I love doing art so it's fun to read that you're an artist! I'd like to think of myself as a forest elf and I'm currently reading the book Good Omens. ^^ Do you like reading?
omg thank you! she is such a sweet angel :) she used to be so shy, but she's turned into a total cuddle bug since i started working from home full-time.
i never thought about myspace strictly being a western thing, but that totally makes sense. super interesting that this site's nostalgia factor is applicable to your experiences too! :^) that's so cool that you do art as well- what kind of art do you make? love that you're reading good omens; a lot of pratchett and gaiman's work definitely fits in with your magical forest elf vibes. i did a big paper on pratchett's lords and ladies in college and am a fan of his writing for sure! i definitely am also a big reader, mostly of graphic novels these days. i get a lot of inspiration from autobiographical/slice of life comics and like to pick those up any chance i get!

Yea maybe some people used it here but I think it was mainly an American thing! I mainly just draw and paint things in my sketchbook, not that spectacular haha. I got some posca markers last week and they're fantastic! Do you know of them?
Oh I love that! Good Omens is actually the first book I've read by Neil or Terry. I do want to read stardust after I finish this one tho, I've seen the film before but never knew it's from Neil Gaiman! But it makes sense haha. I used to read comics a lot when I was younger! Asterix and Obelix n such. I don't know much non-fiction stuff to be honest though
