Envy's Embrace
A new sense of danger has arrived
There was an alarm ringing in my heart
It must have taken me by surprise
A fairly silver chain around my neck
And the green eyes that catch your glimpse
While the rain pours on your sacred purity
I tried to remember why I crashed–
Into your sweet custard daydreams
In this card, I must tell you
All the things I’ve yet to say
So, miss, if I may:
Would you take this impulsive chance?
Or would you leave it behind–
And let it fade to green?
