On trying to rewrite stories

Alright, so I'm in a bit of a self predicament. I'm wanting to rewrite one of my stories that I had been fixated on for most of September, but I'm having my doubts.

I know it's just a part of writing, and it's just a part of life, but I can't help but feel a little bit bad about discarding and abandoning those versions of the story. I've done it before with this same story, and stories like it, though.

Well, now that I think of it, my personal favorites in my writing have all been drafted over several times on paper before moving to a digital format. I will try to remind myself of it, but it feels really different as a purely digital story. In that case, I might just have to go ahead and move the rewrite to one of the many random notebooks I have somewhere... And then just go with the consequences. Copy some parts of the original story, just like I have before, and just do it.
