(So this is kind of a rant so let's start.)
I believe growing up with the beginning of the internet, even if I wasn't there when it was created or wasn't old enough to remember old Fandoms/ shows like Sesame Street, Elmo or just YouTubers like Matpat who started in 2009 or even older channels out there, is a gift.
I think it's like that because not only were we introduced to a journey and led through it but we also got to see how the journey eventually ended but what I think that I learned from that is that just because that journey ended doesn't mean it's a permanent end. Take for example game theory.
Game theory has been a part of me for most of my life with MatPat and Amy and yes, the sudden retirement hurt alot but the end of the journey was just the beginning of a whole new one, with the new hosts and all.
Yes, I'll always miss them ALOT but I think that's part of the beauty of getting older, each time we circle the sun another time, we get hit with new journeys, possibilities, challenges, emotions and most importantly change.
In my opinion life wouldn't move forward without change and being able to live through that change, like experiencing the beginning and the end or change of these channels or shows, is a gift I always will remember and cherish.
Thank you Internet. <3
P.S: (a small message) thank you for everything Matpat.
