I can't talk to people

I'm being 100% honest here, i have no idea how to keep a conversation alive. Like I've tried to talk to people online and our conversations usually last a few hours and we never talk again. I don't know if i'm just a really awkward person or if it's something else but I can barely keep any online friends and it kinda bums me down...

This is not really a big deal but at the same it is because i love to meet new people and talk about random shit and having fun but why can't i do that for longer T-T if someone could help me i'd really appreciate it
