just a ramble about FNAF

BLOG ENTRY 4

SUBJECT; FNAF

I find it crazy how a game that started as a side project became one of the pioneers of the gaming industry. I find it even more crazy how just one little game can shape the childhoods of millions around the world and become one of the most successful game series on the planet.

And it is a good accomplishment to make a good game that gets relative popularity, but to make an entire franchise with lore that helped in inspiring other games, that is fucking insane. Obviously there are some issues with the franchise, quite a bit of plot holes that dont make sense just yet, but there isn't really any perfect thing. No matter what media you are consuming there are mistakes in it, and that is what makes it just a little more human.

Not to mention all of the youtubers that have explored this franchise and helped it develop. The first two, and the two that more or less impacted me, that come to mind are obviously Matpat and Markliplier. Like their gameplay and theory videos on this franchise is so engraved into my mind it is insane.

Also not to mention the entire fanbase as a whole?? The FNAF fanbase is one of the more active ones i've seen. The music, drawings, edits, fan-made games, videos, theories, hell even the 2020 gacha videos (sorry if i gave anyone PTSD from that dont worry i used to watch that stuff too xx) have honestly made this fandom so much more than really anything I could've experienced. I was 4 when i joined this fandom and i'm turning 14 very soon. 10 whole years and i am still fascinated with this franchise and definitely not bored with it. Like sure i'll hyperfixate on something for awhile and lowkey forget about FNAF, but eventually I will always find my way back to this fandom and series. It's like a tic that I don't plan on removing anytime soon.

I really couldn't be more grateful for this series, which is kinda funny since I really don't think anyone cares all that much. It would be a stretch to say that this random indie-game-turned-multi-million-business raised me, but it honestly did. I remember staying up to watch gameplay videos, going to walmart and buying one of the figurines, watching matpat's theory videos and trying to add onto it, and just interacting with the fandom as a whole. I geniunely have so much good things to say about this franchise.

Enough being said thank you for reading this mindless word ramble that doesn't make much sense.
