love in thoughts 2004 - film rant

So I recently re-watched love in thoughts and I just have to rant about it a little. Now, I will not go into full detail about everything but I really, really need to rant about something that always bugs me so much about this film. I will probably never get over how dirty they did Gunther in that movie. First of all, Paul only cared about how he was gonna get with Hilde, therefore, he didn't once acknowledge how Gunther felt (and the fact that Gunther had feelings for Paul only made it worse). Second of all, Gunther had been nothing but the sweetest brother to Hilde, and yet, she still went behind his back and betrayed him. Hans is a huge prick, so I'm not surprised by his actions, but Hilde and Paul greatly disappointed me. Not once did Paul, Hilde or Hans actually care about how depressed Gunther was, since they only cared about their own asses. But instead of hating them, Gunther in fact encouraged Paul to go after Hilde, and he bit his tongue when Hilde betrayed him and went to be with Hans behind his back.
