good ol days....

does anyone miss the good old days when games actually paused when you pause the game? does anyone else got problems with why the pause menu is such a joke for most games nowadays? like i play a game, and i pause it so i can take a shit or something, and i come back and my character dies while the game is still paused. why is pausing a game such a joke now? just wait until i'm older and telling whatever children or grandchildren i have about the urban legend of pausing games back in my day. you seriously may as well not have the damn thing anymore. pause menus seem so pointless now...
