Tony and Paulie are bored and decide to rent some movies from a local video store. They pick up two obscure titles: A Rose For Livvy, a drama about a teenage girl who falls in love with a mysterious stranger online, and Welcome Back, Devon, an educational film about bullying and its consequences. They also buy some snacks: Ore Ida Funky Fries, a discontinued line of flavored fries that come in varieties such as cinnamon, chocolate, and blue, Boss Sauce, a local Rochester sauce that is sweet and spicy, and Mountain Lightning, a Wal-Mart brand of citrus soda that resembles Mountain Dew.
They go back to Tony’s house and start watching the movies. They are both unimpressed by A Rose For Livvy, which they find boring and unrealistic. They mock the characters and the plot, and make fun of the low-budget production. They switch to Welcome Back, Devon, which they find even worse. They laugh at the cheesy acting and the preachy message, and compare the bullies to their own enemies. They also notice that one of the actors looks like Christopher, and make jokes about him.
They finish the movies and decide to smoke some Wicked X, a synthetic marijuana product that is supposed to be more potent than regular weed. They make a waterpipe out of a 2 liter Mountain Lightning bottle, and light up. They soon realize that Wicked X is not what they expected. They start to feel paranoid, anxious, and hallucinate. They see visions of their past and future, and confront their fears and regrets. They also experience physical symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and chest pain. They panic and call 911, thinking they are dying.
The episode ends with Tony and Paulie being rushed to the hospital, where they are treated for Wicked X overdose. They are also questioned by the FBI, who have been tracking their activities. They learn that the video store they rented the movies from was a front for a rival mob, and that the movies were actually encoded with secret messages and instructions. They also learn that the snacks they bought were laced with drugs and chemicals, and that they were part of a plot to poison and blackmail them. They realize that they have been set up, and that they have to find out who is behind it. They vow to get revenge, and to never watch those movies or eat those snacks again.
