Reminiscent ramblings

My words, in truth, in speech are lost,
Only in prose and Rhyme may I show,
The meaning of the poets heart,
I beg your indulgence but you had to know.

I feel as though I have offended thee,
Now I promise I make hence,
Not to be so aloof verbally,
I shall attempt to speak in more eloquence.

I shield myself because of a siren past,
I am guarded by the armies of men,
My shackles of this fortune, I wish to cast,
For a future to look forward to, and then..

The next paragraph is blank,
For the time ahead is still there to write,
If you forgive my failings then I would like to thank,
You for your time and for your light.
