Am I supposed to be content with what I know and have?
Apparently not.
Most of my students got me Amazon gift cards for Christmas and so I started perusing for whatever I could think of. New boots? Nah. New sneakers? Looks like size 9 doesn't exist anymore. Rock shirts? Nothing's grabbing me. Wait...what's this?
A pedal with whales in it? Another one with a parrot?
Of course my curiosity got to me so I went on YouTube to hear demos. I am familiar with this brand Caline Technology so down the cliched rabbit hole I went! The Orca chorus sounded very 80s, and of course that suits me well. Checked out the Parrot digital delay and again, sounded clear and clean. I purchased these two without playing them (because no stores carry this brand).
I was immediately impressed with how well-built they are. Metal casing (!) with sturdy knobs and tiny enough to make more room on a pedalboard. I made a demo video you can hear on my YouTube page.
I couldn't stop there though, right?
Checked out more of their pedals and was intrigued with (and purchased) the Chamecho analog delay and Killer Shark booster (I love sharks!) Made another video for those pedals too.
Been chatting with Steve over at Caline and he seems happy with my videos (never commented my playing though LOL). Whether or not they do artist deals, I will gladly trumpet these pedals.
I need more, right?
