Facebook No More!

The title is a take on Faith No More, the band name.. you get it, right?

Anyway, we had a good run didn't we? I signed up on Facebook in 2006, even though I didn't want to. I got my first Myspace in December 2004, and used it for myself, my radio show and my music, right up until 2008 or 2009, when it got all, sold to an asshole who made it crappy and unfunctional. Thanks to An, by the way for bringing us back most of what it used to be. Anyhoo, I was reluctant to use facebook, but ultimately the fact that everyone I knew was on it, and more, ultimately got to me. FOMO got to me, that's always been facebook's weapon!

"Certainly you don't want to delete Facebook when it's the surefire only way you can stay connected to your family, friends and other loved ones!?" that's a bold-faced LIE!!! It's a goddamned LIE!!! Facebook is a place that commands that you mold your life into 'running for office', like you're a product or a public figure, when ultimately you're forced to being nothing but a consumer and experiencing even MORE fomo when you're ON IT and trying to stay connected, than otherwise. You know what you get with Facebook!? You get ads. You get suggested posts. Those suggested posts have zero substance, and thousands of sad and angry comments from unqualified and emotionally stunted strangers. There is NOTHING of value in/on facebook. As of lastnight, Jan 12th, 2024, you gone!! Deactivated, app deleted, time no longer wasted, life better!

I will do the work, to stay in touch with my family and friends, thank you. I was fine before you, and i'm better off without you now. I'm keeping Messenger though, BYE!
