toxic femineity

We all talk about toxic masculinity but what about toxic femineity?

Its honesty terrible to see it affect some of my friends, i started my freshmen year of highschool in 2023, im about halfway through the year and just in that time ive seen some wack shit relating to "girlhood."

yes, im aware high school girls are cruel, the whole Regina George wannabe shit is getting on my nerves but i have to step back and ask myself something, why? 

I have this close friend; ill call her L for privacy reasons, She used to be cool and actually fun to talk to, we were both relatively nerdy and like, yeah sure we weren't popular but we were both happy, now I don't go to school with her but i have friends that do and ive heard some wild shit from them, she did a complete 180, she wears pounds of make-up, she straightens her beautiful wavy hair, she is boy crazy when a year ago she didnt even like boys, she was gay! she acts like she isn't nerdy, like she couldn't talk about gravity falls for hours, and yes, those changes arent bad, caring about your appearance isnt bad, but shes a complete dick about it!!!! 

Shes had this friend, lets cal her A, theyve been friend for years, but ever since L did her whole switch shes been a complete dick to A because shes nerdy, its come to the point where i hide parts of who i am from her because i know she would make fun of me, but the difference between me and A is, A and L go to school together, meaning if L wants to appear popular and befriend the popular kids she cant be seen with the "weird kid." meaning, she openly makes fun of A, she uses A, she ditches A, just for some hollow friendships with the popular kids, and this shit doesnt happen to just me, SOOOOOOOO MANY GIRLS GO THROUGH THIS!!!!!!!

Its so common for teenage girls to have eating disorders, to deal with "mean girls" and what causes that????

ive always been a tomboy, at one point i even identified with He/Him, i just got back to girlhood and ive noticed how toxic it can be, especially with teenage girls. people starve themselves because they want to be "pretty" even though those girls are unbelievably pretty, they just dont see it because of some wack ass standards that are set. 

and i ask myself why, and honestly i dont know, i need opinions from other people at this point. 

so ill leave you with this question, why do you personally think most teen girls act like this?
