I got a second interview for a marketing job that feels like a pyramid scheme scam and something feels off and not right. For starters, they have a great-looking website and said that the job is going to be in a physical location and emphasized that, so it COULD be legit, but I seriously have my doubts that I'm not getting scammed.
When I was looking at contact info for their website and saw social media icons, the links on there were literally not set up at all. I tried looking EVERYWHERE I could think of for social medias that could possibly match on LinkedIn and all over the internet, but nothing.Β
I really don't think this is a stable job or even legitimate because the interviewer said I made the top 10% of interviews despite my complete lack of marketing experience, PRed me a little too much about how fun the job would be and told me that I would be in a higher position in less than a year if I was successful with an exorbitant amount for a salary...
There was no clear physical address, and the HR people talked SO fast that you could barely understand or process what they were actually saying. It feels like they are trying to deliberately confuse and brainwash me into falling for their bullshit.Β
Something doesn't feel right, so I'm REALLY REALLY hoping that I won't get a third interview to be honest. My gut instinct says to run the fuck away and withdraw my application from the process. This won't be something I need to worry about if I don't get a phone call, which will be a relief honestly, but I won't believe them until they give me a LEGITIMATE physical location of where their office is.Β
I will be scouring Google today and working with any information I have to see if I can confirm its legitimacy, third interview or not. Even if I don't get the third interview, if I can confirm that it isn't legitimate, I will find a way to find their Glassdoor, and give a VERY negative review and tell people to be cautions.
Honestly, I just want to withdraw my application process and move on. I don't think I could mentally handle higher-level positions even if they are convinced that I'm qualified due to my skill set.Β
I am going to job-hunt and move on and for now write this off as a scam and believe my paranoia that they are trying to manipulate me and con me into believing their weird business model.
