Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Yay!! My favorite animanga (next to witch hat atelier and chainsaw man)
Animation:
To start off, the animation is very smooth. The rotoscoping, the backgrounds, the fighting scenes. Literally everything about the animation is smooth, not a single flaw in sight. It's very nice watching the action scenes and everything is just so smooth and I love how they actually fight and it isn't just colors flashing everywhere.
Soundtracks:
The soundtracks are made by Evan Call (the composer for violet evergardens soundtracks), and in my opinion they're actually good! It's relaxing, and the soundtracks fit the atmosphere well.
Pacing:
In both anime and manga the pacing goes a bit like slow > fast > slow > fast. It's just a constant loop of that, but I think it shows Frieren's concept of time well, like how time goes for her like a blink of an eye.
Plot:
The plot is unique, it shows what happens after the journey of the demon king being defeated, and not what happens during it. I haven't seen that in a lot of animes. The plot is original, I'll give it that.
Characters:
The characters all in all most of the time only have a few of their personality traits shown, which could be understandably annoying for some people. But I like how there are some moments where they showcase a more different side of them, giving people a new perspective on the characters. Like for an example, that Himmel isn't just a self-obsessed guy who only cares about himself and his looks, he was also shown to be really caring about his peers. A more famous example of that would be that when he told Frieren he was requesting a lot of statues to be made of him is that so Frieren doesn't feel lonely after he dies.
Overall rating:
I'm going to be really biased on this but I'd say 10/10. Of course, people's opinions may be different but I really love how this animanga is done. It's wholesome but it can be angsty at times. It's slow, but fast. If you like more fantasy stuff then I'd recommend reading or watching it.
