GTAO removed from xbox game pass, so half my crew can't play it right now...

I feel really bad, especially for my friend (40M) who uses the game as an escape from real life. 

For some context, Grand Theft Auto Online has an old gen (ps4/xbox one) and new gen (ps5/xbox series x & s) version. A lot of the cooler updates are being reserved for new gen, plus the graphical issues for old gen was getting too annoying, so I decided to make the jump around Thanksgiving when the digital copy on new gen was for sale (I already have a series s). And since the game was in game pass, those with xbox one could still play using "cloud gaming." 

Well, it was removed yesterday. When my friend got in group chat on xbox, you can tell he was very upset. The three of us who are still able to play started offering suggestions, and that he could get the series s for now (which is drastically more cheaper than the x), but he was too upset at the moment to listen. In the group text chat on istagram, we suggested him to go to local pawn shops to check if they have either console, as pawn shops at this time of year are trying to get rid of stuff since they have to pay taxes on inventory.

I'm hoping he takes the advice, because we all generally have a fantastic time together. That, and it's getting way too hard to find like minded adults to play with.
