I saw Wonka today, I would say the movie was fun and passable (Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa was the best part for me tbh).
The music was so bland
though. Idk what it was about it. But it was just like... generic children's movie
musical ass music I have heard a million times before which is just sad
bc like they had all the ingredients to make a great soundtrack.
Especially
underwhelming comparing it to the Gene Wilder film's soundtrack which
was fun in an old hollywood way, and the absolute badassery of Danny
Elfman's score in Tim Burton's film. I have never listened to the
soundtrack of the musical so idk what that one's like. I wasn't even
comparing the scores while I was watching it, but after the fact. Yeah,
it's disappointing.
Otherwise, I think it's decent. Just could have used more polish here and there.
