My adventure with dubstep.

I started my dubstep adventure with Boskey's "Dub Juggle" mix downloaded in 2007 from the now defunct mofaja website. Generally I was lucky twice. First time in high school I got the bug for real Jamaican digital dub and it was a good antidote for most of the mainstream crap from TV and radio. The second time I got lucky was with dubstep. After listening to Boskey's mix I got such a taste for tracks by Skream, Loefah, Burial and Horsepower Productions that I decided to go to an internet cafe and download some all dubstep mix to my mp3 player. I typed "dubstep mix mp3" into google and "Dj Turrican Loves Dubstep Mix" popped up on some niche music forum. I downloaded without hesitation and what was there! 😮 Burial, Shackleton, Peverelist, Ikonika! Totally broadening my horizons! So I was lucky to get to know dubstep from the smarter, more creative, meditative and dark side. Then I think Caspa and Rusko did a mix for Fabric in 2007/8 and that was more accessible stuff, then it got commercialized and became very brostep drill-ish, but it didn't work for me anymore because I was already raised on King Tubby's classic Jamaican dubs and Zion Train's cyber dubs.
