december '23 ___〆(・∀・)

so overdue!!! sorry about that.

december came and went very quietly, which is actually something i really appreciate. at the precipice of a new chapter, why not take some time to look back and see what's changed and what hasn't? despite the melancholy and slight dread that comes with it, i’m glad to think about how i’ve evolved through the months.

in terms of school, not much happened. a lot of my teachers got final projects and tests out of the way before finals week came, so most of the work we did during the past few weeks was pretty chill. i was also sick for a little while, but that didn’t really affect much. not sure if i did super well for the exams i did have, but i know i tried my best.

hosted another event for my club, and gave them small gifts before the break. it’s pretty bittersweet, to be honest— this is my last year as president. will someone be willing to fill my shoes? and if so, will they do a good job? will the club thrive after i’m gone? i’ve poured my heart into creating and maintaining it, its dissolution would break my heart…

hobbies... strangely, i didn’t play as many games either. though, i was able to finally boot up the second-hand ps4 disc i bought of an old childhood game, and enjoyed it greatly. and i got a new small game— storyteller— for my switch, which is also charming and cute! i love the various reactions the characters have depending on where you place them (and the scenes they’re in) in the sequence.

i believe this is the month i really started putting together layouts? i found myself wanting something a little more personalized for my profile, and so i started making wallpapers and found colors, cursors, songs to go with them… it’s nice to have a new hobby. though now, even though i have the motivation to make another one, i don’t know what it should be focused around, oops. collage-style stuff can be awkward sometimes— you have all the photos and a vision, but no matter how you put them together, it just doesn’t look good. haha.

i mentioned this in my last weekly bulletin, but i find that i listen to a lot of indie when the weather is cold. it just strikes me as a cold, yet comforting genre, though i can’t quite explain the origin of such feelings.

overall, this year was one of great character development, but still very quiet. like, filler and behind-the-scenes work, which makes me a little nervous, but... it’s better than last year, and definitely better than the one before that. i’m in a much better place mentally, and i think i’m growing into myself again.

at the risk of being cheesy, discovering this site definitely helped! it’s lovely to be here, and i already have super great friends and a tiny corner of the interwebs i feel safe and comfortable in. creating my silly guan xing layout for instance, and then redesigning it to feel even more personal is something i view with great pride!

thank you for being here with me. let’s have a lovely 2024~

i got it while it was on sale so idk if my opinion is completely valid, but i think it was a good purchase! it doesn't have a bunch of content atm, but it does take some time to work through the puzzles, and the little details in the characters and their actions is very cute :D (though i think there may be more content updates later on???)

so, if you're looking for something small to pass the time, this would be good! :0 hope this was helpful, hehe
