Gym/goal update

The plan is to ride the gravel bike race this year🚴 I'm not even going to say try, I'm just going to do it whether anyone joins me or not. Third day at the gym this year so far💪 Plan is to try for every day but know that it'll probably land around five days out of the week. Every year I say I'm going to continue go to the gym through the summer even when I'm riding, but I usually barely go to the gym during the summer. I'm going to make sure I do though, because it really helps with riding. Also going to do a gravel training ride first day we get good weather. 😄

I like your attitude! Get it done! Right before the turn of the year I started this "two on, one off" policy where I exercise for two consecutive days, and then take one day to rest/recover... it has been good. Life got in the way a few times already, but I've done well to bounce back each time. Lately it has just been basic weight training at home, and maybe a walk at the arboretum.

Thank you! I think it helps a lot to go in with an attainable plan like yours. I go into the gym at this point with very easy exercises I know I can do so that I'm not dreading going. It just works better that way for me. Good luck with all your goals!

I've done a couple of gravel races but crashed about a year ago. I've just got to get over my fear of going downhill. Training rides will help. Do you do gravel riding?

I’ve biked a twenty mile trail a couple years ago. I’m not an experienced rider so it was pretty intense. There were a lot of hills too, which didn’t help. That’s all my experience with gravel riding.
