Hell Followed With us - Rec

I've been reading Hell Followed With Us (Andrew Joseph White) for a while now, and I truly believe that if you like dystopia and despair, you should read it. A lot of people avoid this book because of its 'queer agenda' but truly it has a good plot and i enjoy the characters, i feel like i could go to a club and actually meet those people. yes it is considered a progressive book, and obviously it affects the story but i feel as if it adds to the characters, making them something more and feeling more like actual people, with lives, blind struggles, and that these people exist even when lots have been lost.

While im not finished with it fully, from what ive read it has great themes and actually describes the feeling of being queer / neurodivergent really well, and i feel a lot of people could connect to some characters through that.

As a person who loves dystopia, the world that the writer built is similar to what i imagine as a rampage disease end of the world scenario, and with the religious themes (as a person with religious trauma) i can understand what and why the main character thinks the way he does.

(warning if you do decide to read it, please read tags of the books it can be disturbing to some)
