I Have No Idea What I'm Doing

So, now that I've unleashed my first blog post onto this unsuspecting world and feel confident about using this feature, I have a question for the audience. Yes, I've decided to forgo answering obvious questions like "When were you diagnosed?" or "What the hell is wrong with you?" because of my burning curiosity.

My question is this: How exactly do you do this? Blogging, I mean, and don't say "You're doing it right now!". You and I both know it can be more complicated than that. Is this one of those creative endeavors that benefits from a self-imposed structure, or is this a more anarchist (in the leftist sense) medium? Is there etiquette? Can I just put whatever I want here? Does reading this make your eyes bleed? Am I overthinking the vast creative freedom on offer? How do you format this shit? Should I turn off the comments?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading, and I hope you ate cereal or something while you did.
