Conservatives crying bcs of Green Day

Soooo, prolly loads of you know this butt whatever.

So, Green Day gave the New Years concert in the USA, and basically during the song "American Idiot", the singer, Billie, change the lyrics from "I'm not a part of the redneck agenda" to "I'm not a part of the MAGA agenda". Conservstives are being cringe as fuck, calling Green Day woke and shit like that, even some of them said that theyve been Green Day fans since forever and now the hate them. 

The thing is, are this people stupid? Like, Green Day is a Punk/Pop Punk band, and have always made this leftist politica music, why are they surprised now at something that the band has done before? Have this people listened to the lyrics of their songs?
