Yesterday was definitely a solid day to start out the New Year:
First, I had a dentist appointment early in the morning, so it was a rarity to finally wake up at a decent hour during Winter Break from College; However, I do have to go back next week since a filling from years ago is starting to break.
Next, I went with my mom immediately after the appointment to the store for a couple of items, and convinced her to pick up some Donuts (I was craving the Long John style of donut, plus it is ironic how the guy with a cavity is going to pick up a sugary sweet afterwards).
Afterwards, my mom, twin, and I decided to do something with the day since I was up really early. We decided on going to the mall and hitting up IKEA afterwards for a specific type of shelf for my twin's room.
The mall visit was above-average, my twin always likes to buy LEGO (and leaves it on the shelf afterwards, making it the world's most expensive dust collection) and I was able to get a Shirt, a pair of socks, a pair of winter gloves that I thought were really cool, and a bicycle helmet for the push-scooter that I got for Christmas.
At IKEA, it was a more boring trip because it wasn't as busy as the mall, and the maze-like showroom almost put me to sleep (or gave me vertigo, a lot of the rooms looked the same to me). I visited the Blahaj Bin and took a picture of it. We got the shelf, of which we already bought once before, and left to go back home.
We reached home, and I decided to take a 20-minute nap before we went back out as a family to try and play some Pickleball. I was excited because this was a good chance to try out the push-scooter; However, both locations that we usually play Pickleball at had the courts still covered with snow. We ended up going back to our primary location for the game, and my family allowed me to try out my push-scooter while they sat in the car and had fruitful conversations.
It felt exhilarating to be on a push-scooter again (especially when you're twenty and haven't been on an actual scooter since before your pre-tweens). The way that momentum is carried, how turning is executed, and how each push brought the scooter to its max velocity really made it a learning experience. Although it was only a 15-minute test run, I had fun and got some great exercise in. The amount of force applied on my right leg while riding is something I need to get used to though, I should probably start doing leg exercises to strengthen it. The only downside to riding a push-scooter so far is the conscious stigma/thought that I am essentially an adult riding around on a "children's toy" with a bicycle helmet on. Although the helmet probably wasn't needed, it felt really comfortable to wear and warmed my head in the cold.
After we got home, I chilled on the family couch for a couple of hours until dinner was ready. After that, we watched two episodes of Fargo, indulged in a College Basketball game that proceeded it, and went straight to my room to get on Discord. Since my close online friends were watching ZOM-100 on a video call. It's age rating/demographic definitely holds itself back, and it really doesn't help how I missed the first seven episodes while watching the Basketball game. After all that, I unceremoniously went to sleep.
I thought this was a pretty solid day to start off the New Year, especially with how stereotypically bad and depressing January usually is with the lack of holidays or unique weather situations. In less then an hour after publishing this, I also have plans for tonight to go out to dinner with my twin and best friend, so maybe it's the best two days so far???
To anyone that reads this, have any of you had a day like this so far in the New Year? (I know it has only been like 3/4 days, but please share if a "busy" day like this ever brings you joy, contentment, or nothing close).
Cheers~!

This was a really nice read man, very inspiring you find so much joy in so many things, really inspiring, for me, the days all seem to blend together lately, but Im gonna try and take a look at them the same way you seem to look at life, and enjoy all the little things I tend to overlook, Dont worry about what other people think of you riding your scooter, all that matters is your happy ridding it.
Im trying to think of my best day of the year so far. I cant really think that far back, so Ill just think of the best in the past couple weeks, I would say maybe a certain saturday I had a while back, I had my aunts and cousins over and we had pizza, and then I played games with my friends and had a ton of laughs later that night, then later on my brother came home and we talked about all kinds of old 2000s computer stuff we both love. That was a pretty solid day.
Thanks for teaching me to realize that,
Hope that right leg gets big and strong ;P
