Rambling about Video Game Coding

So, cuz of the way this site works I have to use HTML in order to make my page look cool. I really this system and had a bunch of fun making my profile! So I decided to look more into the world of coding (specifically video game coding) and dear lord....It's a lot and I'm not gonna pretend I understand it all, but WOW. As good news, Scratch (my childhood <3), that website with the orange cat that used blocks to make games is actually a pretty valid programming website. So yay! But the actual real deal video games code (no shame to Scratch, you make make some amazing stuff in Scratch!) are just a whole different beast. I've seen stuff about the different languages of code like C++, C#, Lua, and a lot more that I probably haven't found yet. But dang, I respect Afraid of Monsters WAYYY more than I already did, I'm the same age as Andreas Rönnberg (15) when he made that game (mod?), and it's a REALLY good game that I would totally recommend, and it's free! But all in all, I'm gonna look into the world of coding cuz it's super interesting. Have a great rest of your day!

as someone who also had a hard time moving from scratch, unity is definitely the most straightforward game engine out there. written code may look scary, but trust me there are far more confusing visual scripting languages out there. id advise you dont try 3d games for a long time though because they are a far larger hill to climb than the rest of the engine. not because of the artistic side like 3d models, just the programming gets fsr more complicated in 3d. ive tried pretty much every engine out there and (despite the recent pricing scare) unity is definitely the best one. at least for me i guess.
