Murder Drones is an intense example of something getting better if you stick with it. The pilot is quite possibly one of the roughest first impressions I have ever seen. Almost none of the jokes land outside of the opening exposition, the high-school drama is over played and Uzi comes off a poorly written teen punk #112. But everything just immediately comes together in episode two!
Uzi is actually likeable and has genuine fears and trauma! N, the saving grace of the pilot, is still great! And the mystery is actually engaging with the actual purpose of the murder drones and N’s memories!
It’s an incredible feat with just a few months of planning can take what comes off as some misguided attempt 2000s edge nostalgia and make it great!
Also it’s very pretty :3
