i need help with my hair!!!

i need advice! so i just got into the Emo sub culture and i don't have the money for the hair cut/style (the side bangs and layers) and my mom doesn't have the time to take me to get my hair cut and styled. But i'm also so scared to cut my own hair because i dont want to mess it up. 

so how do i style it the way that i want? 

p.s my older brother is also emo and has the hair cut and can cut his own hair and he said that he would cut mine but i also don't want him to fuck up my hair
