Opening of Pandora’s box…

For the longest time i was so fixtated on “originality”, not realising there’s more depth to it.

I’ll admit I was or am conceited, not something i’m super proud of but i’m not working on it. I’d like to think “ouu i’m so super original!!!” Although I may be my own being, when i use my creative skills and concepts to create a piece or project it’s not always an original idea. 

Seeing things around my environment whether it’s through nature, sound, pictures, light, other digital systems, others peoples work can create inspiration and muse for me. My idea’s and creations link to another thing, it almost feels as though nothing is the most “original idea ever” for me. Something is always made by someone before hand. 

Everything is interconnected or linked. Sometimes i take these things directly by using it as a base and making it more adaptive and innovative through my eyes, making it altered towards how i like it and the addition of details that may imbed my personality or me in general. 

Highlighting the process of a creation is significant, the time and effort is important. Time and effort are so valuable, that’s why at times terms like “inspired by” or “credit me” are used or even letting someone know that you’ve used something of their work. For a glimpse second it can feel unnecessary, but for the creator its recognition of their work with the factors involved in it.
