It's 3AM right now. Sadly I haven't been able to finish the book I've been reading yet, I have comprehension issues. LOL. Anyways, I've been trying to find more artists to listen recently. I discovered this song yesterday and I think it's pretty good. It's hard finding new songs, especially with the way the internet works nowadays. If anyone has any recommendations, specifically rock. I'll be down to listen to it!
Now onto my guitar lessons, I've learned a lot of the basic chords!! I just don't really know where to go from here. I feel stuck in a way, I find my self memorizing the same 8 chords everyday. Does anyone know where to go to from here?
Other than the guitar, I've been distracting myself with minecraft bedwars.... super fun.... super frustrating.

Learn your pentatonic scale. Most riffing & soloing I do in my music is based on numerous pentatonic licks that fit the mood: the pentatonic scale is really inoffensive & lends itself to unique feel & creativity. Before that, you should record some demos & analyze the progressions of the songs you like: I developed most of my songwriting sense by learning Oasis songs & feeling how Noel Gallagher uses chords. Of course, it takes time to develop this sense, but you’ll tap into interesting progressions with a lot of experimentation.

THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE!!! This is really helpful actually, i've been slacking a bit on guitar and playing songs without really understanding why or how they're played the way they're played. I'm still here after six months, just haven't been posting much.

Most of my songs are based on small riffs that eventually grow into songs, so you want to learn riffing & generally how to record demos in order to flesh out songs
