with shows/movies and streaming services of that type, i'd understand if there was one service with everything, or if it's free with ads but that just usually isn't the case. if you wanna buy into it, you have to rent out monthly payments to (usually) 2-3 different companies just to watch the shows you want. it can also remove stuff at any time or move it to a different service, which just blows. i'd much rather get a dvd of whatever i wanna watch than get netflix or hula or tivo or bibbly or whatever the new stuff is.
this also applies to music, but less. for me, having the cds of bands i like works better, and i grow to appreciate each album more, but it definitely adds up, and it's ultimately much cheaper to use spotify on a short/medium time scale.
with games, at the same time, i get it but also hate it. i like that a good amount of good games usually come free with a gaming subscription like NSO or game pass, but i hate that the online is locked behind it. why can't it just be free? so, even if you only want the online, it'll seem better to get the premium for the games included instead of a basic online and buying the games seperate. what's more, NSO locks some games behind it, so you need the full premium just to play old games. blech,
i don't really know what other types of subscription services there are, but i can give an opinion if someone mentions them. bottom line, i don't use any subscription services, and if you ever wanna watch UHF, just come on down (⌒_⌒;)

Game Pass isn't too bad honestly other than DRM bs and needing an internet connection to play the games, the selection is typically pretty good for what you pay for
I buy music off bandcamp sometimes if I have the funds but other than that.. 🏴️🏴️🏴️🏴️🏴️🏴️
I even heard that netflix will lock the resolution on certain devices (like I remember one dude complaining that netflix wouldn't let him stream in 4K because he was using a laptop to stream as opposed to a much less secure smart tv)

tbh, gamepass is pretty good for what it does, i just don't really like using it bc i don't like subscriptions. if i was fine with em, though, i'd def be using it. i feel like the online shouldn't have to be restricted behind it, but eh
i sometimes go for the seven seas with music, but i also like having CDs. they do take up a fair bit of space, but whenever i'm done with them, i'm fairly sure that i can donate them to the library, so it's not too bad. (libraries are awesome)
maybe netflix was actually better years ago, but maybe it was also that it was the only one doing it (besides hulu, that was different). i dont think being a55holes is too good for their business model, or maybe they've grown past the hurdle of "being nice to the customer".

maybe the whole streaming services thing is because there's like 5 or 10 good ones now and they all want the same flat fee per month. Might be why netflix is kinda hiking prices and shit now is to keep loyal customers paying more, super predatory methinks and only further incentivizes plundering the shows you want
CDs are cool too I actually own a few now but as mentioned they are a bit expensive esp if you're wanting a few albums
