sonic #3 - sonic's 900th adventure review

two sonic related posts in 2 days, ik! but welcome to my review of sonic's 900th adventure, and don't tell me that this came out like 8 months ago or something cause I KNOW.
anyway this is a celebratory comic for sonic's 900th adventure (woah i couldv'e never guessed). i can't believe everyone went back and counted literally everything sonic has ever done. does this include the archie comics too? cause if it does, then that implies that archie is canon.....
ignoring that, lets get into my favourite part of every sonic comic: the art. and this comic does have some art alright.

WARNING! i am FAR ahead on everything sonic related and i know things that i shouldn't. watch out for spoilers, and i would prefer if you read all the comics first before reading my review

i would go and name every artist and writer that worked on this, but thats a staggering 22 people that worked on this. damn. not to mention the 10 different covers by 7 other different artists, making it a grand total of 29 people people + the 4 other people listed in the special thanks

alright i just wanted to take a second here to point out evan stanley's work here. this is damn near some of the highest quality pages i ever seen from her. this is what happens when you give an artist time ZAMN look at those COLORS

[insert pic of evan stanley's first page]

also the "minty fresh" reference there. pretty sure that's a reference to the sonic twitter takeovers

AND the orca. sonic adventure callbacks...
oh yeah here's just another insane page. i could stare at this comic for HOURS

[insert pic of evan stanley's second page]

honestly this art is REALLY distracting me from the story. i would say that they went to hard on the art, but im pretty sure that was kinda the whole point + they had to wrap up the warp topaz stuff
speaking of the warp topaz...

[insert pic of the "topaz control!"]

man i jus love orbot and cubot. probably because sonic colors was one of my first sonic games. that and sonic adventure 2
also can someone tell me if this robot is a reference to something? i feel like im missing something

[insert pic of eggman's robot (the one with the giant sword)]

ok im pretty sure this whole "review" is just me lookin at the art. i think all my reviews are like that
speaking of art LOOK AT THESE COLORSSSS

[insert pic of the super cool desert blaze & cream are in]

also im pretty sure this desert is based off a real life place? i just looked it up and it might be based off vinicunca which is like a "rainbow" mountain in peru. that or the "vermillion cliffs" in arizona
but anyway WAAAAAHHHH CREAM

[insert pic of cream's rant]

:(((( THE METAL VIRUS MADE HER SAD I THINK :((((((

it wouldn't be a celebratory comic without shadow. unfortunately HE'S A FUCKING JOKE SOOOBBBBBBINGGG

[insert the pic of shadow where he's trying so hard]

don't worry, he kicks some babylon rouges-shaped butt in the next page

[insert pic of that]

rouge in the background lmao

anyway we're nearing the end here! sonic finds the spot where the warp topaz originally was

[insert pic of the "greatness began here"...]

it looks real damn eerie. i hate it
but yeah we end the story with adam bryce thomas. the ending feels a bit rushed but maybe that's just me. plus they have to fit it all in exactly 40 pages

[insert pic of last page]

but yeah, thats sonic's 900th adventure! very awesome celebratory comic. i wonder what they'll do for his 1000th.

if you would like to read these comics, please buy them. it's on ONGOING series and the artists and authors deserve all the money!!! they sell these in volumes of like 4-5 issues per volume (they're like $16 per volume) and that's how i read them before i started buying individual issues. if you ran out of money because you spent $200 like me, you can read them online if you search through archive.org. don't read them on suspicious free comic websites.
