Most of my life, I've lived in places that were far too hot to have significant differences in the seasons; more or less, things were hot...until they got kind of cold, and the seasonal shifts weren't well-defined.
Things have changed.
Now my husband and I live in an area of the world where we have four distinct seasons. I'm still complaining somewhat about the Spring- the Spring seemed to happen far too quickly, as far as blooms and colorful trees go, and the Summer thundered in quite terribly with its god-awful heat.
But Autumn...
...the Autumn here is a true Autumn. We had a month or so of genuinely pleasant temperatures- warm enough to go without a lot of heavy clothing like coats, but cool enough that one could take a walk and not get overheated.
Recently, the trees have burst into full autumnal colors- there are yellows, oranges, reds, variations of these, and even sometimes a purplish-red that I've rarely seen in trees but is still really gorgeous.
The leaves are falling in swaths and giving off that peculiar leaf-smell that only comes in the autumn.
