elegy for the new year

this is an old one!! this is a rhyming elegy that i wrote i think 4 a school project which is why it is kinda shit but oh well. i wanted 2 post bc i'm home and want 2 fucking kms (UGH!!!1) bc i h8 my home and shit but i <3 my sisterz. they r my saving grace fr!! anyways here is is from several years ago: enjoy and see how much i've progressed XD

∾Elegy For The New Year

My brother,

How tearfully we approach the top of the hour.

Though, to anyone other,

Through negligent observation,

I appear to cheer at your smother.

How despairing!

I can not bear it as the seconds blur.

My recurrent grief is uncomparing.

None may offer their consolation

To my beaten heart unerring.

My witness falters,

Blinded by the sky’s bleeding radiance.

While they shout, I long for what we once were;

Joyous song and disorderly libation

Mark the world’s silent altars.

How can I continue?

As the clock marches, relentless,

I mourn for all the horrors that became true.

I mourn for all deaths’ consideration,

All tragedies that, in life, befell you.

I cry for all I leave behind.

Hold my secrets close in your grave, friend.

These desolate hours are dextrously designed,

For, no matter how fervent my attempt in preservation,

Every year, you and I die in kind.
