sonic #2 - IDW Issue 67 review

hey yalls im late once again! i really should have made this review right when the issue actually came out. same with sonic's 900th adventure, which im also gonna make a review about
i remember in my last review i said some stuff about this issue and how it was gonna be "controversial" or somethin. i still have no idea if it is actually controversial, because its hard to find discussions about these comics. but this issue was a lot more predictable than i thought, so lets actually talk about it

WARNING! i am FAR ahead on everything sonic related and i know things that i shouldn't. watch out for spoilers, and i would prefer if you read all the comics first before reading my review

ALLLRIGHT i first gotta say that this cover is GORGEOUS. beautiful. i would go into a whole description of why this is objectively artistically amazing, but i don't think i got time for that. but thanks miles arq for the incredible art

alright the first thing i thought when i saw the first page was "oh my god the amy x surge ship is gonna go so hard". did you know that was a ship? cause it is a ship. also i dont know why i was thinking of shipping when i first saw the page

but anyway after that we get a quick flashback to why surge and kit are at the restoration. they basically met clutch, and he was like "oh lets go i can manipulate more people and fuck with the restoration more! lets go!!!" also OMG clutch knows who surge and kit were before they got transformed by starline!!!! if surge and kit help clutch with his plans they get to know everything about themselves. im rooting for surge and kit and clutch rn cause i really wanna know surge and kit's past and shit

anyway blaze is so real for this

knuckles, shadow, blaze, silver, surge, kit, who else am i missing...

anyway next is a montage of surge and kit reintroducing herself to everyone... including the diamond cutters. yeah whisper is NOT happy about that

also just a note: i feel like this is the first time we've seen belle in a while. i cant believe when we first got introduced to her i didnt like her???? i relate to her so much bro
alriiight whatever at the end of the issue "duo" introduces himself as mimic... uh oh. i really hate mimic. what a jerk. fuckin asshole. he's so gross and creepy look at him

anyway now for my speculations on whats gonna happen next! surge and kit are gonna slowly learn that "aw jeez aw man these guys are actually fr??? too bad we were brainwashed to hate their guts + clutch is manipulating us" and they're gonna be SUPER conflicted. i love speculating. i also don't know whether mimic will be playing the long game and "duo" is gonna stick around for a while, or that the surge and kit stuff are gonna speed things up somehow.

but i think that concludes my review for this issue! next issue is about sonic and tails. classic. its definitely been a while where its just been sonic and tails.

edit: i was informed (by myself) that there is a new classic sonic miniseries coming out next month! check it out here on the wiki! me personally i never got into classic sonic stuff, but im sure this miniseries is gonna mean the world to the classic sonic fans. just look at that old logo. look at those Sonic the Fighters references.
the order for my reviews will be: 900th adventure (tmrw hopefully) --> winter jam oneshot (when i get it today) --> issue #68 (jan. 3rd) --> fang the hunter miniseries #1 (jan. 17th)
