12/26/23 - What I got for Hannukah, Christmas and Yule !

Hello hello here I am again with a blog entry, yesterday was Christmas, were still celebrating Yule and Hannukah ended earlier this month, but me and my S/O celebrated all of these holidays this year. 

I grew up in a Christian family and we always celebrated Christmas, but we also have Norse and Celtic heritage so I've been wanting to celebrate Yule for a few years but never had the freedom to.

My S/O is Jewish ethnically but grew up surrounded by Christianity as well so they never got to celebrate Hannukah, so this year we did that together.

We both also celebrated Christmas with mine and their families but that didn't include anything special, just opening the presents. I got presents from all three of the holidays we've celebrated and I wanna talk about them so I'm doing that now !

For Hannukah, we didn't get each other a little present for each day, we're poor, but we did have gelt each day and exchanged small presents on the last day. I got them dangly feather shaped earrings and they got me these sock slipper things with skeletons on them, they're really softt.

For Yule we've been hanging out in nature and we plan to make a Yule log too. I decorated my desk with a few things that made me feel more connected with nature and I've been reading about norse paganism in the new book my S/o got me. My S/O got me a shadow the hedgehog lego set and a copy of Shadow The Hedgehog for the gamecube for yule too, they knew I wanted these things and I'm so happy because I played the Shadow The Hedgehog game as a kid on PS2 but I haven't had it in so long I missed it ;;

For Christmas time I got the most presents because our families both bought me things. My S/O got me the most personal stuff I'd say, they got me a book on norse paganism, they got me a Batz-Maru shirt, a copy of Malleus Maleficarium, and... A real Megalodon tooth. Yes, real. I can't get over it, that thing is so awesome I love it.

My S/O's family doesn't approve of some of my lifestyle choices but they still managed to get me gifts I like without infringing on their own christian, conservative beliefs. Their grandparents got me a hoodie of the band kiss, they like kiss too so they love getting me kiss stuff, and they got me one of the brownie in a skillet things. Their aunt and uncle got me a book on celebrity autopsies, cute star shaped huggie earrings, and a little bat preserved in acrylic. Their mom got me a pair of bath bombs from one of the disney stores, she lives near Disney Land and loves Disney like nothing else, and she got me a shirt that says "heavy meowtal" with a cat playing drums, obviously from Temu :/

My family is the type who wouldn't buy a gift they don't approve of, which is why some of the gifts they got me were funny. My grandparents got me a Craig x Tweek pin of them holding hands, not knowing they were gays so that was funny. My grandparents also got me a book called The Lazy DM's Companion, as someone who just got into D&D recently as a DM, I wanted more books. This is funny because I can't imagine my grandparents approving of D&D because they know it as "the game people played where they killed each other in real life in the woods that one time". They also got me a ring thats shaped as a bunch of little razorblades in a band, its pretty cool.

My brother got me a plush of a scorpion, its cute, but my brother also got a sticker made by my mom of nick cage but his body is a banana, I don't fuckin know why he had her make that.

Thats a thing too, my mom got me some presents but also made me some presents, she has some machines to make personalized items. She can put designs on clothes, make stickers, subliminate images onto fabric, that kinda stuff y'know. She made me some patches for christmas, she made five of them, four of them are random cute photos of my cats and one of them is a photo of me and my coworker friend wearing those squishmallow halloween costumes at work. She made them knowing I put patches all over my shit, so that was pretty fun to receive. She also bought me a Cannibal Corpse patch, a pair of all black Graffik DC shoes and handmade soaps from her friend who has a small business.

My mom's boyfriend got me a poster thing, its from a shop he likes that has these arts of anime characters/scenes that shift when you turn it, I don't know how thats called, but he got me that with Jotaro and Dio from JJBA, he knows Jotaro is my favorite.

My aunt and uncle got me a pack of spikes that you use to DIY spikes on clothes and leather and such, the ones with the screw-on backs that you can put in a choker or something. 

So that was my presents if anyone cares lmao, another entry like this is probably to be expected next month as next month is my birthday si I'll likely get presents then too. Anyway, it was fun rambling about things I got for the holidays, I had a nice time, hopefully you had a nice time reading, stay cool ☆
