so im a puppy petre, and i use pup/pupself and puppy/puppyself pronouns, and im starting to wondering if im like...pupgender?? but im not sure, and i dont wanna understand it wrong. ive rlly tried to find sum stuff abt how it feels to be any sort of petgender that isnt inherently otherkin, which i dont think i am, but i havent rlly been able to find super specific stuff, i just dont wanna misunderstand the identiy/label yk? but i do also think that im not just exclusively petre, i could be, but i feel like its such a big part of me that its probably more. like i slip into a petre mindset *extremely* easily, and i do get like phantom tail and ears n stuff, and i take it personally as well. like im a puppy almost in the same way as i am a trans guy, like i have almost the same reaction to it, but i dont have like species dysphoria i think its called??? like i wish i had a tail and ears sure but im not rlly sad that i dont have those, and i have heard that u dont have to have species dysphoria to be a petgender or otherkin or therian. idk i just wanna hear from other pups/ppl and know what ur gender experience is like for u pls sorry if this sounds bad im coming from a gud place im just trying to understand lol tysmmm have a gud dayy <33 nwn

HAII im a therian + xenogender + regressor (three strikes lolz) the way i liek understand the differences is this:
- for xenogender its liek..... u dont identify as an animal its just ur gender relates to it? like it can be metaphorical (like u feel like ur gender relates to having puppy qualities) OR it can be like how certain things are associated with certain genders, like how blue is traditionally associated with boys or watever? its like that but instead its liek pups and its association with ur gender. if that all makes sense. although if u DO identify as an animal it could certainly affect your gender and then u can turn out to be pupgender at the same time as the other stuf‼️‼️
- the line between otherkinity/therianthropy and pet regression is a little blurrier but the main difference is that liek, otherkinity is a constant identity even if ur not experiencing a shift (some otherkin dont even experience shifts at all!) while pet regression is Not constant liek its just while ur regressing ⁉️⁉️ although just liek how being a pet regressor or otherkin can affect ur gender, pet regressing and otherkinity can also affect eachother!!! liek for instance when i regress i think of myself as a wolf pup because im a wolf therian outside of regression‼️‼️(i still dunno whether to call that age regression or pet regression lolz but u get wat i mean)
so tldr: xenogender is that you dont identify AS the animal its just that ur gender RELATES to the animal, otherkinity is a constant identity and pet regression is only when ur regressing, and they can all affect eachother so its easy to end up being multiple at the same time‼️
