Hi everyone! welcome to my blog. How are you? :D
I really hope you are having a wonderful time of celebration or winter break.
I would like to show some photos of the restaurant and the Christmas Eve menu. My family and I went out to eat, usually on Christmas Eve we eat a fish-based menu. I wasn't able to take photos of each course because the food ran out so quickly ahah it's so nice that everyone enjoyed it!
the restaurant is very original and there are many vintage objects that I love and I would have liked to take photographs of everything!
appetizer that looks like a painting with cocktail sauce in the center. it was my favorite dish!
in this photo there are scialatielli (type of pasta) with seafood. really delicious! they were spicy and the seafood was very juicy.
this is fritto misto with fried shrimp, squid rings and squid tufts. with a squeeze of lemon on top they are even better.
cheesecake cake with currants, very pleasant taste.
missing from the photos: baked potatoes, mussels, scampi and prawns, squid ink ravioli filled with cooked salmon with fresh cherry tomatoes on top (another very good dish!), lemon and coffee sorbet, apple and nuts pie, liqueurs and espresso coffee.
yesterday I was at a relatives' house and there was a nice cozy atmosphere with the fireplace lit. At Christmas we usually eat meat. we ate several delicious homemade cold cuts (I'll leave the photo below!) together with other tasty appetizers and pickles and then the rest of the menu included meat tortellini in broth, roast meat, cotechino and mashed potatoes, fries, mille-feuille cake and rose cake.
there were also liqueurs including one aged 70 years! and then a lot of home-produced wine. there were also mandarins and dried fruit.
then towards the evening we also ate some slices of garlic and tomato pizza. I was really full and satisfied!
we played tombola and we played with the cards and then my aunt played the piano which she hadn't played for many years, it really seemed like a magical moment.
Today is Santo Stefano and it's another day of celebration here, I'll prepare lunch at home. I read that in some countries Boxing Day is celebrated. what it is?
Do you have any plans for New Year's Eve?
thanks for reading!
