Muse Simulation Theory Concert redeems the album.

The first time I heard the band Muse was inside a Spec*s music store (remember those? Lol). I picked up a pair of headphones connected to a machine that was playing “Black Holes and Revelations”. I went through a few of the songs and thought “what on earth is this?” I thought it was the weirdest music I’d ever heard and immediately dismissed it (In retrospect, I believe those were some really bad headphones). Fast forward 3 years to the release of “The Resistance” album...I fell in love with that album, and thus fell in love with Muse. I listened to the earlier albums and was hooked...Black Holes and Revelations was amazing!!! I couldn’t believe that drastic difference between the there and now and my first listening experience. Fast forward again to 2018 and the release of  “Simulation Theory”...as I listened to the album, over and over again, I wanted to be hooked....I was hoping that there was something I had missed in their new formula, but for the life of me, I couldn’t get into it...it was not the Muse I was used to. So, I wrote-off the album as the death of Muse for me.
The here and now: 5 days ago I reluctantly watched the Simulation Theory Movie, which is in essence their latest concert with some movie footage in between. I could not believe my eyes and ears...here was the same album presented in live concert (of course, along with some of their best songs from the other albums as well) and I was blown away...again!. The theatrics, the visuals, the music...everything was so much better than what I had heard in those listening experiences...it’s as if this album was intended to be heard and seen in a live performance...it all came together so well! So, I highly recommend it to anyone....but specially to those that might have hated the sound of the last album. Hope you enjoy it like I did.
