The episode begins with Tony sitting on his couch, flipping through the channels. He comes across the HBO Family channel, where he sees the Kindergarten show. He is curious and decides to watch it. He sees the teacher, Ms. Johnson, acting drunk and crazy in front of the kids. He laughs and makes fun of her, saying that she is a loser and a disgrace. He also compares her to some of his enemies and associates, such as Phil Leotardo, Ralph Cifaretto, and Christopher Moltisanti. He thinks that he is better than her, and that he has more control over his life and his business.
However, as he watches the episode, he starts to feel uneasy and uncomfortable. He realizes that he has some similarities with Ms. Johnson, such as his alcohol and drug problems, his stress and depression, his anger and violence, and his poor parenting skills. He also remembers some of the incidents where he lost his temper and acted irrationally, such as killing Ralph, shooting Tony B, and beating up Zellman. He wonders if he is also a bad person and a bad role model, and if he needs some help. He feels guilty and ashamed of himself.
He tries to ignore his feelings and continue watching the show, but he can’t. He sees the kids crying and scared by Ms. Johnson’s behavior, and he thinks of his own children, Meadow and AJ. He wonders if they are also afraid of him, and if they hate him. He also sees the principal, Mr. Ostrowsky, taking Ms. Johnson away to his office, and he thinks of his own boss, Johnny Sack. He wonders if Johnny is also disappointed in him, and if he is planning to betray him. He also sees the assistant teacher, Mrs. Matheson, comforting the kids and explaining to them that Ms. Johnson made a bad choice and needs some help. He thinks of his own therapist, Dr. Melfi, and he wonders if she can really help him, or if she is just wasting his time and money.
He can’t take it anymore, and he turns off the TV. He feels a panic attack coming, and he reaches for his pills. He takes a few of them, and he lies down on the couch. He closes his eyes and tries to calm down. He hopes that he will wake up and forget everything. The episode ends with him falling asleep, while the credits roll.
