Things Look Different Today

Short write about a lyric in a song.

It's partially the motivation for writing this.
What's funny to me about the song is that I've listened to it many times, but never actually interpreted the lyrics. The only lyric I can actually remember is "In a strange peculiar way, things look different today."

What I love* about the idea of "things looking different today" is that it can go either way. It's normally heard with a positive connotation. Maybe yesterday was shitty, but today is better, but I can see it being negative too. "Things look different today" can also be interpreted as "today is shittier" we just choose not to see it that way. Or, at least, I choose not to see it that way.
