I don't know why it is seen as an essential moral thing (by some) to respect religions, what makes them any different than any other belief system or ideology? You don't hear people saying "respect all political ideologies, respect communism even if you are a capitalist", nor should anyone say that, it'd be stupid.
Religion is fundamentally wrong, I'm not gonna say something like "I respect religious people unless they use it as an excuse for bigotry", that ignores the main problem. Of course I respect people regardless of religion, but no individual is entitled to anyone's respect, let alone a belief system.
Religion is fundamentally wrong, because at it's core, it's brainwashing people from childhood into believing lies, and then using threats of eternal damnation to make those people follow meaningless rules. Not every religion has all of those things, but they all are lies, and I think lying is wrong. A religion is not a religion without those lies, religion is wrong.

I agree to an extent. Saying I respect you as a person but not your religion is that same thing as saying hate the sin love the sinner and bullshit evangelical christians and some muslim people pull that card allll the time. Although you don't have to believe it the least you can do is respect someone, and respect isn't really subjective. Universally respect is seen as you let me do what I'm gonna do and you do you but I will not shame or hate you for it that's it. To sit and tell someone their religion is wrong is immoral in my opinion. On top of that religion is just interesting watching people damn near blindly follow whatever is really fun to learn about lmao. Again that's just my opinion I'm not tryna change your mind but yeah.

i agree! you should respect the people, not the religion itself. however, this doesn't mean you should go and spray-paint churches and stuff.

Not every single religion is a Christian cult . You can criticize the specific harmful actions of people following certain religions, but you can’t treat them all as a monolith when beliefs are so varied across cultures . It shows a lack of consideration to the possibly hundreds of spanning belief systems on earth, throwing them under the bus for (what sounds like) personal experiences with few to one .

I'm not talking about the harmful actions of religious people, or anything like that all really, I'm not saying every religion is a christian cult, I'm saying that all religion is untrue and being taught to children, and I think that's wrong.
