I need help from my fellow emos !!

Hi, i've been emo for like 6 or 7 months and i've noticed that i really love this sub culture and all that comes with it. I've been doing some research since day 1 bc i really wanna be informed about emo culture and all that. One day, I posted a photo of myself and a girl said "how funny are people that claim to be emo but dress like scene or e-girls" (The photo is the same one on my profile pic, you can't even see my outfit, but she said that). That made me a little bit insecure, because i'm not scene or e-girl, i'm emo hahaha, and i wanna look like an emo (i know that emo is mostly about music and not clothes, but we all know that most emos have an especific emo look). 

So I need help from other emos with more experience or more knowledge bc i've been trying to find emo outfits on google or pinterest, but they say "scene outfit", like i can't find "real" emo outfits, i just see e-girl, grunge, y2k, scene. So i've been doubting if emo really has an especific way of dressing or not, because all the "emos" that i see, claim to be scene too 😭😭. I'm really confused, and i also want to know wth is fashioncore hahaha. (People are very very mean to other people that says they're emo, i've seen that they comment things like "you're not emo, you're just fashioncore", wth is thaaat hahaha).

Also, all that i know is that the "standart" emo outfit is: black skinny jeans, a black band t-shirt and converse shoes or vans. I kinda love it, but if i add something with color or another accesory, they immediately call it "scene". WHYYY, I'M SICK OF THAT AGHH
