OPERATION RED SOIL (Kind of idea for a Half-Life mod)

Hi guys, how is it going? On this night i'll bring you a sort of story idea i've been thinking on. What I wrote is a king of 'foreword' that describes the main idea.

It is highly inspired in the Half-Life saga and many other FPS games. Because of that, one of my ideal plans is to turn this story idea into a Half-Life mod.

This is my idea:

WARNING: this story does not seek to generate or promote hate speech. It simply seeks to create a scenario of action and wholesome entertainment. Please note that this is pure fiction

OPERATION RED SOIL

August 27, 20XX. The Republic of Argentina and its inhabitants were in a situation they had never imagined living. Power had been seized by an individual few people had ever heard of. This one, whose true identity was known only to a few, was referred to in many media outlets as "D."

"D." was a businessman who owned several media outlets. In addition to being willing to do anything, he possessed indescribable cunning and had vast and diabolical influence. Despite his questionable intentions, he knew which pieces to move on the chessboard of life. This allowed him to weave a web of power that extended beyond the screens, and he managed to control not only the media narrative, but also the country's politics and security.

By consolidating his dominance (and taking advantage of his resources), "D." also managed to take over strategic uranium production plants. Amidst dark plans and unbridled ambitions, the threat of nuclear bombs loomed over the nation, ready to confront any opponent.

D. was not alone in his macabre plan. In addition to having his corps of journalists ready to play his speech as if they were cassettes, he had managed (with much effort and dedication) to get his own army / private militia:

These were men and women, coming from many parts of the country and from many battalions and squadrons, convinced by "D." that his "legacy" and fortune would be shared with them if they cooperated in his mission. This faction, later named " Comandos Negros" ("Black Ops") acted with elegance and finesse, carrying out recon operations and silencing anyone who opposed the new regime. In this situation, the "superheroes had been left without their cloaks": The security forces and those close to them had their hands tied, as the Comandos Negros had managed to move their cards early.

Many nations opposed the course Argentina was taking. However, "D.", in a nationally televised speech, responded to these reproaches by mentioning that he "did not discard setting his sights on certain key regions".

Among these nations there were the United States, whose president, upon hearing "D.'s" message and considering the consequences of not acting ( considering Argentina's surprising advance in nuclear capability), decided not to stand idle.

Commander David Johnson was warned on the night of August 27 that they had work to do. The man, with a pronounced bald head and a look that conveyed sensations in unison, could not avoid remembering the night they set out for the Middle East with a single objective: to liberate Iraq from the clutches of Saddam Hussein. The crucial difference was that the test phase was over, the real invasion had begun: They had to save not only the Americas, but the entire world from an individual who could only be compared to the worst pandemics or natural disasters.

During the dawn of August 28, 20XX, the first Apache and V22 Osprey helicopters flew over Buenos Aires, like carrier pigeons that had reached the recipient of the message. Meanwhile, in the homes of Buenos Aires, a single message constantly boomed at every signal and twisted like a pendulum, exclaiming: "El ejército estadounidense llegó a Buenos Aires" ("The U.S. Army has arrived in Buenos Aires").

Doubts had been dispelled: the so-called "Operation Red Soil" (translated as "Operación Tierra Colorada") had begun.

One of the many camps of the so-called "Yankees" had been set up on a corner of XXXX Street, across the street from one of the many offices of "D's" organization.

In 1989, Scott Wallace, a U.S. photojournalist, had traveled to Panama to interview military officer Manuel Antonio Noriega. However, the U.S. military had intervened in order to capture him. Wallace recalls that during his stay in a hotel across the street from the Vatican embassy (where Noriega had taken refuge), he heard loud heavy metal music, in what he believed to be the "U.S. military waging psychological warfare on the military" (referring to Noriega).

Maybe one of the soldiers hiding in that camp on XXXX Street was inspired by this tactic, or came up with a peculiar way of confronting his enemies: He only needed to stand in front of the studio door, guarded by a duo of Comandos Negros, to listen to the heaviest chords at a more than considerable volume.

Meanwhile, in far away Texas, a young Ron Harvick, rather associated with one of the many battalions of U.S. Marines, opened his small office-turned-studio to begin one of his broadcasts. His objective was clear: to report on the most important events in the territory in which the "gringos" were intervening, while he gave them a well-deserved entertainment, reporting events and playing his favorite music.
