just gonna put all my kpop related opinions in one place just bc i can

loona

genuinely have one of the best discographies in kpop

every member is capable of doing solos and captivating the audience on their own (as proven time and time again) and i find that impressive

jaden jeong ass lickers are so annoying like no loona don't owe their success to him whatsoever. the lore is cool for sure but i stayed for the girls not him 

people think orbits are the worst when in reality they're just annoying which could apply to pretty much any side of twt lmao (their redeeming trait is majority of them know how to actually boycott to help their idols unlike others who're blinded by the need to consume) 

tbh they're not unsuccessful by any means, especially given the situation they found themselves in. even after dealing with a small company who didn't give a shit about them, crap promos, and long hiatuses, they managed to make a name for themselves and gain a fanbase. i'm so proud of them and i'm happy they're able to do what they love even after all of the hardships they've faced

i do miss ot12 but i'm really happy with the girls' current standings; they get to try out new stuff they haven't before and they all seem to enjoy where they're at. and the girls have already said they'd love to do group activities in the future if they ever get the chance so there's really nothing to be sad about imo.

"they don't make music like this anymore!!" people have been complaining about them 'changing their sound' since 2017 please be serious 

their lineup is perfect to me. personally i wouldn't have it any other way; they each contribute something wonderful to the group and collectively lift each other up 

i'm also convinced people only vehemently hate their english tracks (and tbh most of their current music) just bc it's from bts bc objectively all of those songs have nothing wrong with them? like what's wrong with butter

tbh the hate they receive is kinda disturbing sometimes.. especially the things people will say about jimin meanwhile he hasn't even done anything egregious

it's unfortunate but i believe lisa is the only one left that wholeheartedly enjoys performing and still gives it her all

i actually enjoy most of their title tracks but their b-sides aren't really anything that special

jennie's recent solo just wasn't good.. it was unfortunate bc i really liked the sailor moon theme/styling

their performance level/stage presence has been consistently good throughout their career and i commend them for that

i like when momo's more natural tone is utilized instead of forcing her to strain and sing outside of her comfortable range; idk why companies don't give lines more suited to an idol's capabilities more often 

they may not all be the strongest technique-wise in terms of vocals but i find most of the members' to have nice tones that are recognizable (in a good way) especially tzuyu and mina 

imo their song quality hasn't gotten necessarily worse, the concepts have just changed with time

itzy

once again.. why can't jyp let their idols sing parts that are more suited to them? not everything has to be so high pitched (the members are able to work with it but i feel like a lot of the itzy vocal critiques wouldn't be so severe if some of the songs weren't so unnecessarily high like cheshire for example) i've heard lia's covers that have lower notes/tones and i feel like she shines best in those

they have one of, if not the best, dance lines in the 4th gen. their performances are always impressive 

lia isn't the best dancer and that's fine; she's still able to keep up with the choreo for the most part but constantly calling her the worst at it isn't gonna help anybody. i also feel that if their songs showcased her vocal strengths more, less people would be so focused on her dancing 

that being said, it would be nice if jyp gave them better vocal training if they're gonna make them do a bunch of high notes anyways

no matter what kind of music itzy releases people are gonna hate it for whatever reason, especially now, which is so odd to me bc i fully believe everyone would've loved cake if it was released in 2019 (and vice versa, everyone would hate dalla dalla/icy if it it was released today) i believe it's a combination of the hate people have for itzy and the change of the overall kpop scene + music trends

i used to not like o.o but it really grew on me. i think the beginning was just a bit jarring and threw people off 

objectively they have the best vocal line in the 4th gen with aespa in second place 

idk why people hate them and everything they do so much; their music is nowhere near awful. i believe the ones that still hold that sentiment heard their debut and nothing else  

sullyoon could outsing a lot of 4th gen main vocalists

eunchae hate is so weird and forced bc really what has she done to anybody.. people love calling her a dozen but she’s actually a good dancer and right in the middle of the group’s vocal standing so i don’t get it

sakura isn’t the best singer sure but her performance skills have improved a lot

unforgiven was good i don’t understand the hate for it either! antifragile is hard to beat but unforgiven isn’t bad by any means 

why do people pretend like chaewon can’t sing.. personally i think her voice is amazing. i also love how much she shines in lsfrm

one thing they're gonna do is sing live and i love that about them

people try sooo hard to bring down wonyoung and i think a part of it is bc they just can't believe anyone could be that pretty and successful without them having some character flaw i guess? that and jealousy most likely bc all she does is mind her business 

wonyoung's technical skills in vocals may not be the strongest but she's still far from being a dozen imo. her performance quality speaks for itself and i personally think her vocals have been improving since izone

i believe their stage presence has improved a lot; in the past their performances didn't captivate me much but that’s definitely changed

i don't really understand people that love sticker by nct bc the flute throws me off wayyy too much lmao the vocals are good at least but my god everything else is awful

male gg stans that hide behind their pfps and say misogynistic shit about other fans are so unserious bc why do they act like stanning ggs absolves you of all that 

people that defend min heejin's weirdo behavior are so odd

"idols have always debuted young why's everyone mad now" do people not realize how stupid they sound when they say this lmao just bc it's been happening for a while doesn't make it ideal.. this ties back into newjeans fans acting defensive over the members' ages as if they don't work with a notoriously creepy grown woman who likes to sprinkle in inappropriate concepts (and defend them! cookie wasn't just about music get a grip). of course people are gonna be concerned
