I'm thinking about doing a no/low buy year next year! If you don't know what that means, you essentially challenge yourself to spend as little money as possible. I like it because I hope to be more mindful of the things I really need versus the impulse buys I find myself doing. I'm hoping to accumulate less stuff in 2024, which means that to me, food and "Experiences," (Like movies, trips, etc) are still fair game. I just feel such an immense need to be satisfied with the physical things I own.
Have you guys thought about restricting what you consume? In a time where boycotts are so important to address our concerns with the world, I feel like we should be making an attempt to only buy locally, at least as much as we can. Obviously buying local is a privilege not many of us have. But isn't it nice, thinking about only financially supporting your community?
Sometimes I just wish the world were smaller.
