As you all know being a mechanics wife your always on the go either to car shows, friends houses to help fix it, or to the drag strip or car conventions but lets throw in planning and prepping for such events our fellas are so comfortable just to up and move without an ounce of doing the budgets and food prep, and all the extras that come with.
if your just joining this crazy world of being with a mechanic the adventure just begins
* Car Shows*
if its a local car show grab a hoodie, jeans or shorts, flip flops or sneakers dress for the weather but plan to be there all day. or if like me throw sneakers in a bag and call it good,
now if your bringing kiddos along grab a wagon strollers maybe rough depending on the type of ground pack extra of everything. I highly recommend grabbing a blanket or something and an umbrella they could take a nap when they are getting fussy also pack snacks. and if they want to run a round find a field or corner for them to run around and play without hitting the cars because some owners are real finicky about there pride and joys.also some car shows have tons of stuff for little ones to enjoy so defiantly reach out to a coordinator or look online about the event. The one my friend went to recently had a contest and little ones with power wheels could enter in. oddly enough her kiddo won and husband won a best looking truck award or something.
now lets say your husband decided to show off his pride and joy and enter the car show there is a whole list of things that he will need or want done all with your help.
to help you out I've created a list of things he will want done now a few days before the show and it probably wont be driven until after the show so plan your schedule you'll be sharing a vehicle. until the show is over.
1. the vehicle will need washed, and waxed
2.wheels cleaned and shinning
3.full detailing on the inside
4. everything will be removed from the vehicle except registration, insurance info, and of course car show registration info.
5. cooler of ice and favorite drinks
* now this is great because you now have a " Home Base" grab a few chairs, coolers with drinks & snacks, and something for you and the kiddos to do and enjoy. but do keep in mind some car shows you don't get to pick your parking spot so activity books or card games are great.
* Car Conventions*
Now Car Conventions are a lot easier to go to because they have all of there information online, and your able to call and email cordniators to ask questions if your bringing any children. I suggest bringing a Camera and some cash or Credit Card for food, drinks, merchandise.
shoes I reccomend your comfiest ones because you will be walking alot.
keep in mind your mechanic will probably be running off excited about the new & older models so just have a plan incase yall get seperated it will be loud so phones might not be heard. so just relax and take it slow, enjoy the show.
