This book is a collection of some of the most notable essays to come out of the "cyber(insert noun here)" craze that spread throughout academic circles in the 90s, prominently the CCRU. There's not a lot of theoretically groundbreaking work to be found here, although it is fun to revisit the speculative scenarios academia cooked up for the 2000s. Given that most of it never came to fruition it's interesting to note that Mark Fisher's most famous work would fixate on his idea of "lost futures", speculation that never came to be, fictitious or otherwise.
