"Anytime I don't get to love you in this lifetime, I find comfort in knowing I loved you in many others, find comfort in knowing you loved me in some of them - ☆" written with a black marker, on a blue colored paper taped to a tree
Standing silently amongst the crowd of cheering students, he couldn't help but stare at the person he loved as they stood few steps away, and all he needed to do was go to her
in his mind, he says that he knows better than to reach for someone so far away from him, then she's at arms lenght, so close to him, all he needs to do is call her name.
there she was wearing blue, her hair let down a rare occasion, shes so close to him and he raised his hand, he stops himself midway
he can't, he thinks, he can't love her not today, not this month, not this year, not this lifetime.
The screaming gets louder, cheering for opposite teams but he stays there standing, his focus solely on her
Then she looks at him and as cliche as it is he can't help but tune out everything else going on, she smiles and he doesn't know what to do other than stand there
and then she says something and the screaming comes back, his world turns again, his life starts again
loving her became something he did, it was as easy as breathing
"WE WON!" she shouted and ran to him,
and 'oh' he thinks, suddenly out of breath, he watches her run to him, a smile on her face
he doesn't need to reach for her
she runs past him and hugs the person a few steps behind him
he can never reach for someone who's halfway into reaching for someone else
He looks away, "I can't love her" he says
He smiles, "Not this lifetime"
